Lions Creek Returns & Refund Policy

This Returns & Refund Policy applies to purchases made through our online store at lionscreek.ca and at our Lions Creek Moose Jaw flagship store, unless otherwise stated.

1. Return Window

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return.

For in-store purchases, the 30-day period begins on the date shown on your receipt.


2. Eligibility for Returns

To be eligible for a return:

  • The item must be in the same condition that you received it.
  • Bottled products (such as Extra Virgin Olive Oils and balsamic vinegars) must be unopened, sealed, and unused, with original labels and tamper-evident closures intact.
  • Any non-food items (e.g., accessories, gift items) must be unused, in their original packaging and with any tags attached.
  • You’ll need the receipt, order confirmation, or other proof of purchase.

Items that are opened, partially consumed, or not in their original condition are not eligible for a refund, except where there is a clear quality or defect issue as determined by Lions Creek.


3. How to Start a Return

To start a return, please contact us at sales@lionscreek.ca with:

  • Your name
  • Order number or receipt
  • The item(s) you wish to return
  • A brief explanation of the reason for the return
  • Photos if the product was damaged, leaking, or incorrect

If your return is accepted, we will provide:

  • A Return Authorization number
  • Instructions on how and where to send your package
  • In certain cases (e.g., damaged or incorrect items), a prepaid return shipping label

Items sent back to us without first requesting a return may not be accepted.

4. Damages, Leaks & Order Issues

Please inspect your order when it arrives and contact us as soon as possible (ideally within 5 business days) if:

  • The item is damaged (e.g., broken bottle, leaking),
  • You received the wrong item, or
  • There is a quality concern with the product.

We may ask for photos of:

  • The product
  • The packaging
  • The shipping box and label
  • The lot number

This helps us assess the issue, improve our packaging, and file any necessary claims with the carrier. Where we determine that Lions Creek or the carrier is at fault, we will replace the item or issue a refund, including reasonable shipping costs.


5. Exceptions & Non-Returnable Items

Because our products are food items intended for consumption, we have to follow strict safety standards.

We cannot accept returns for:

  • Any opened or partially consumed food products (including oils, vinegars, olives, and other gourmet items), unless there is a verified product quality or safety issue.
  • Items returned more than 30 days after the purchase or delivery date (as applicable).
  • Sale items / clearance items, unless they are damaged or defective on arrival.
  • Gift cards.

We also cannot accept returns for:

  • Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases (not typical for our product range, but included here for completeness).

6. Exchanges

If you would like to exchange an item (for example, for a different flavor or bottle size), the fastest way is:

  1. Request a return for the original, eligible item.
  2. Once your return is accepted, place a new order for the item you want.

In some in-store situations, we may be able to process an exchange directly at the counter, subject to product condition and stock availability.


7. Return Shipping Costs

  • If the return is due to our error (wrong item shipped, damage in transit, quality defect confirmed by us), we will generally cover reasonable return shipping costs or provide a prepaid label, and we will replace or refund the item.
  • If the return is due to change of mind, ordering the wrong product, or other non-fault reasons, you are responsible for:
    • Return shipping costs, and
    • Original shipping charges (if applicable), which are typically non-refundable.

8. Refunds

Once we receive your return, we will inspect it and notify you if the refund is approved or rejected.

If approved:

  • We will issue a refund to your original payment method, less any applicable shipping charges (unless the return was due to our error).
  • Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement. Your bank or credit card company may take additional time to process and post the refund.
